Text and files you compare

DiffTidy reads selected files and performs comparisons in your browser. The application does not send your input text, file contents, filenames, differences or generated reports to its server or to Google Analytics. Input remains in the current tab’s memory. There is no account, comparison database, automatic draft storage or public sharing feature. Browser extensions, device backups and software outside this application are outside our control.

Downloads and local preferences

Exported text, patches and HTML reports are downloaded to the location controlled by your browser. You decide whether to keep or share them. A language preference may be stored in localStorage under difftidy-language. Removing site data clears this preference. Comparison text is not stored in localStorage or IndexedDB.

Connection data

Loading a website necessarily sends connection information, including your IP address, to its hosting infrastructure. This deployment does not enable Caddy HTTP access logs by default, although the hosting provider or network operator may process connection and security records under their own practices.

Advertising and measurement

The site includes integration code for Google AdSense and Google Analytics. When enabled by the operator, those services may process device, browser, IP, cookie and interaction information for advertising, fraud prevention and traffic measurement. Google services operate separately from the local comparison engine. The application sends only a sanitized page address without query parameters or fragments for its explicit analytics page view; it does not send the text you compare.

The Google scripts are disabled in local previews. On the production site, advertising is enabled only after the operator configures the site and consent messages. Analytics starts only after the configured consent integration reports permission or that the relevant consent requirement does not apply. A missing or unknown consent response leaves analytics unloaded.

Your choices

Where Google consent messages apply, use the available privacy choices control to revisit your selection. Applicable US state privacy messages provide their own opt-out links. You can also manage cookies and site storage through your browser. Blocking ads or analytics does not disable comparison.

Read how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s privacy policy. Consent availability and applicable rights depend on location and configuration. The service is not specifically directed at children.
